Our no-bake Orange Creamsicle Dessert is a blast from the past dessert, super easy, refreshing, and full of creamy orange flavor.

Its bright light flavors are just bursting with an orange citrus creamsicle taste is a vintage orange salad from the 1960s.

The dessert is so versatile it can be made into no-bake fluffy pie or presented in fluted glassware as a parfait for that summer backyard BBQ.

This delicious creamy dessert is even pretty to serve with its orange coloring for Halloween.

The ingredients are simple, instant vanilla pudding, orange jello, whipped topping, mandarin oranges a refreshing summer or fall combination!

Serve them up in vintage fancy stemmed glasses or plastic stemware from the local dollar store and you'll have everyone in awe of how elegant these are making a simple dessert.

Orange Creamsicle Dessert Tips

  1. for making parfaits: use plastic throw-away cups or stemware for outdoor parties or fluted glassware for hosting a dinner party
  2. If making a pie, pour it into a pie shell, and refrigerate for around 3 hours before slicing and serving, or freeze it for easier slicing.
  3. keep dessert leftovers in the refrigerator
  4. optional:  any kind of cookie crumbs can be substituted for graham crackers
  5. drained mandarin oranges should be blotted dry before being added to the filling

Orange Creamsicle Dessert

Fluffy delicious creamy orange salad we just love all summer long a retro recipe from the 1960s.

Ingredients

  • 1- 3-ounce package of orange-flavored jello
  • 1 small box of instant vanilla pudding
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 1- 8-ounce container of whipped topping thawed at room temperature (do not attempt to stir this while frozen)
  • 1- 12-ounce can of drained mandarin orange
  • 2 cups of mini marshmallows
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon grated fresh orange zest

Instructions

  1. Boil the water (I used the microwave for a quicker salad)
  2. Add the boiling water to a large bowl with the jello.
  3. Stir that to dissolve.
  4. Chill for 15 to 20 minutes (or add it to the freezer for 10 minutes)
  5. Using a stiff whisk, beat in the vanilla pudding mix until it's creamy and thickens.
  6. Add the thawed whipped topping, and marshmallows then fold in the mandarin oranges (leave a few for the top for garnish).
  7. Sprinkle the top with orange zest if using and decorate with mandarin oranges on top.
  8. Refrigerate until it gets really cold and serve (around 2 hours).
  9. Note for making parfaits:
  10. 1 sleeve of graham crackers crushed (or crushed cookies of any kind that go good with orange flavoring).
  11. 5 tablespoons of melted butter
  12. Combine the two ingredients in a small bowl.
  13. Layer the salad starting with graham crackers, and orange salad then sprinkle the top with more graham crackers.
  14. These are elegant and served in champagne glasses, wine glasses or plastic stemware in summer for a pool party or hosting any party.
