Here is a quick and easy appetizer, snack, and great party food everyone enjoys called Chili Cheese Dip.

This can be made with all homemade chili or you can just use canned chili.
The layers of creamy delicious warm and melted cheeses compliment any chili and this is the first baking dish to be emptied at any party, it will fly off the table quickly it's so delicious.

We repurpose our leftover homemade chili for game day and it's the perfect warm appetizer for any occasion or party you may be hosting.

Keep it simple or dress it up with our many suggestions below from chopped onions to sliced olives or even some hot jalapeno pepper and adapt away.

For parties, we often like to set up a serving bar with all kinds of chili toppings and fix-ins to pile up on their plates.

An assortment of chopped vegetables, olives, crackers, and chips are just some of the additions we like to serve our chili cheese dip.

Easy Chili Dip

  1. oil spray a baking casserole or deep dish pie plate and preheat the oven to 400 degrees
  2. whip the cream cheese until smooth 
  3. make  your favorite chili using canned or our recipe for  chil
  4. layer the cheese chili and top with shredded cheese
  5. bake at 400 until bubbling around 25 to 35 minutes

  1. leftover chili , canned or your favorite recipe
  2. cream cheese
  3. grated extra sharp cheddar cheese
  4. chili powder, granulated garlic powder, salt, pepper

Other Chili Dip Suggestions:

  1. use leftover dip for a tortilla hot pocket or  inside a wrap
  2. topping for tortilla salads
  3. add crushed tortilla chips to the top
  4. make a vegetarian chili instead of meat
  5. make a chicken chili using leftover rotisserie chicken salad
  6. use beans and a  barbecued chicken
  7. substitute sharp cheddar with jalapeno jack cheese

Repurposing Leftover Chili for this Dip



This chili dip is the perfect snack, appetizer,  game day, or a great idea to repurpose leftover chili to make a great party-pleasing dip.

Use your favorite chili recipe or our Old World Chili recipe.
Even a little Chicken Chili or our Southwest Chicken Chili, or our  Merlot Chili will be delicious in this dip.

Chili Cheese Dip

Chili Cheese Dip

Whether you use homemade chili or store-bought, this party-pleasing dip will be a great addition to your recipe for all chili and cheese lovers!
Prep time: 10 MinCook time: 25 MinTotal time: 35 Min

Ingredients

  • 3 cups of Chili (homemade, store-bought in a can or you can even get some from a local restaurant you prefer)
  • 2- 8 oz packages of cream cheese at room temperature.
  • 1 teaspoon each granulated garlic powder, chili powder
  • pinch of salt and pepper or to taste
  • 2 cups of extra sharp shredded cheddar cheese grated off the block (not pre-shredded in a bag)
  • Note: you can use any brand or kind of block cheese you prefer grated

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees and grease a deep dish pie plate or 10 x 10 baking casserole dish.
  2. In a large bowl using an electric mixer beat the cream cheese until smooth adding the garlic powder, chili powder salt, and pepper to taste.
  3. Spread this into the prepared pie plate.
  4. Top the cheese with chili evenly and then the shredded cheese.
  5. Bake in the 400-degree preheated oven until the cheese melts and the chili is heated and bubbling around 25 to 35 minutes.
  6. This can be served with tortilla chips and see under notes for topping suggestions.

  2. Our good homemade chili with lots of added cheese - has got to be delicious. I believe I'd add some Fritos to a bowl, top with this and mix al together or use it for nachos.
