Tips for Making This Sloppy Joe Casserole

  • Use sturdy pasta like rotini, penne, or shells to hold onto the sauce
  • Cook pasta just to al dente so it doesn’t become mushy after baking
  • Drain excess grease from the meat to keep the casserole from being oily
  • Balance the sauce – If your sloppy joe sauce is very sweet, add a splash of Worcestershire or mustard
  • Let it rest for 8 minutes after baking, so it sets up nicely
