Slow Cooker Guinness Corned Beef

Sunday, April 10, 2016
Slow-cooked corned beef with Guinness beer is one of the most flavorful ways to cook this meat fork tender! I just love the ease and flavors from making this in a slow cooker! It gets so tender you can cut it with a fork!

I love being Irish for a day so much and St. Patrick's Day celebration foods, I really wonder why I wait once a year to have this tender fabulous corned beef!

I really love it like this, this is a classic recipe for sure. I was never a big fan of this cut of meat because it's can be a tougher cut, but in the slow cooker with stout beer, it's fabulous.

I tried many recipes but nothing compares to the flavors and tenderness with this recipe. It is now my go-to recipe and I always go back to cooking it on low heat and slow and it's the best method of cooking this brisket.

St. Patrick is was a real person, and he lived some time in the fifth century A.D. and was British, not Irish.

St Patrick's Day, on March 17 is celebrated with all kinds of green beer and the culture is popular here in the United States.

American's celebrate with foods for the day that are Irish-inspired, like corned beef and cabbage, shepherd's pie and Irish soda bread.

Copycat O'scugnizzo Pizza

Tuesday, April 5, 2016
I grew up on this Oscugnizzo style pizza.

The pizzeria is in Utica New York and still open to date, it was founded in 1914 and many ex Uticans immediately go there that moved away when they go back home to visit!

This was my favorite hangout when I was 14 years old.

The pizza is famous for being an upside-down pizza (if you will) kind of interesting when it's assembled so differently than a normal pizza you're used to.

The taste is nothing like anything else you have had before or the making of regular pizza.

For those who know it well and moved away this is as close as it gets to be the original.

Most fans of this pizza who moved away maybe a little critical but hey until you get home to get the real deal you will be pleasantly surprised.

My hometown had many originals when it came to Italian food, Utica was even known to be called Little Italy.

If you're familiar with Utica, maybe you remember some other famous food there?

Utica is famous for Tomato Pie, Italian Greens, Italian Lemon Ice, Pizza Fritta, Chicken Riggies, Manny's Cheesecake, Oscugnizzo Pizza, Pusties and Rosato Chocolate Cookies.
