Crescent Roll Pigs in a Blanket

Crescent Roll Pigs in a Blanket

Perfect for hosting a party or making mummies for Halloween. Hot dogs and refrigerator dough come today for ideal appetizers!

Prep time: 10 MinCook time: 25 MinTotal time: 35 Min

Ingredients

  • 8 hotdogs
  • 1 package of refrigerated crescent rolls or buttermilk biscuit dough (you can also use pizza dough)
  • mustard or ketchup in a squeeze bottle for eyes
  • Optional: slices of sharp cheddar (this can be placed on the dog for cheese dogs!)
  • Note: for appetizers, when hosting a party, I garnish the top of the dough with butter, granulated garlic powder, parsley, and black pepper before baking

Instructions

  1. Roll out the dough, and place a small piece of cheese on the dough if using.
  2. Place the hot dog on the dough roll, pinching the seam shut.
  3. Place the seam down on a parchment-lined cookie sheet.
  4. For Mummy dogs, cut strips of dough and wrap in a haphazard style to resemble a mummy.
  5. For Baby Showers, cut the hot dogs into small pieces and wrap them like a blanket with a piece of dough.
  6. For hosting a party: Brush the tops with butter, and sprinkle with garlic powder and freshly cracked pepper.
  7. Bake at 400 degrees until golden brown, around 25 minutes.
