Italian Beef and Bean Soup Recipe

Italian beef and bean soup really hits the spot on a chilly day!

 Italian Beef and Bean Soup Recipe

1 pound of cubed beef ( I use sirloin, stew meat, chuck or other steak meat cut into cubes)
28 ounce can of petite tomatoes or 6 plum tomatoes chopped fine
1 cup green beans
3 cups navy beans
4 cloves minced garlic
olive oil
8 cups of water
1 teaspoon each oregano, basil, granulated garlic,
1 cup sliced carrots
1 stalk finely diced celery
Optional: red pepper flakes
1 cup cooked macaroni / pastine of choice to package instructions ( I used Orzo)

In a large soup pot, saute 3 tablespoons olive oil with minced garlic, add the meat. Keep stirring until all the pink is gone. Add the tomatoes, beans, vegetables and any other ingredients you like. Stir in the water and seasonings. Simmer around an hour or until the soup is around 2 inches lower from the top.
Cook macaroni of choice, add to the soup. Serve with shredded Romano cheese and red pepper if using.
