Baked Italian Breaded Pork Chops

Baked Italian Breaded Pork Chops are crispy on the outside moist and tender on the inside with lots of herbs and spices and so much healthier than fried.

This recipe is fast and easy especially when you're in a huge hurry and want a delicious meal that's a winner for everyone who wants a quick, and easy baked fried pork chops.

A thick juicy pork chop baked topped with an Italian seasoned breadcrumb coating dipped in milk first, then baked, that's about it with all simple pantry ingredients.

This recipe is so easy it's even perfect for hosting a dinner party plus baking the chops gives you more time to visit with your company instead of staying in the kitchen cooking.

We even provide some tips and an air fryer method that may also be something you prefer instead of turning that oven on in the summer heat and perfect for those weeknight meals on a very busy schedule.

Easy No-Fuss Meals



Just when you thought you made the easiest baked pork chop recipe, then this one pops up and you must try it right?


This is a breeze to make, I even line my pan with parchment paper or foil so it's easy to clean up.


Time is a big factor in our busy schedule these days, and this recipe can be put together quickly and taste like fried crispy chops perfect any day of the week!

Tips

  1. Do not overbake chops use an instant-read meat thermometer
  2. cover the first 10 minutes then uncover pork needs to be cooked to an internal temperature of 145 degrees
  3. for spicy add some cayenne pepper or hot sauce to the milk mixture
  4. use apple juice, wine, or chicken broth for moisture
  5. boneless or bone-in chops are fine to use
  6. Air Frying Method: preheat the air fryer for 5 minutes at 400 degrees. Brush the air fryer basket with cooking oil. Place two pork chops in the basket or as many as you can fit without them touching. Keeping the basket away from the air fryer and using potholders, spray the tops of the pork chops with cooking spray. Air fry for an additional 4 minutes, turn them over using tongs or a large grilling fork, again spray the top with more cooking spray, and air fry an additional 4 minutes or until an internal temperature reaches 145 degrees using an instant-read thermometer.

Italian style bread crumb coated pork chops baked and crispy as fried.

Ingredients

  • 4 thick center-cut pork chops
  • 2 cups of Italian-flavored breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup Pecorino Romano Cheese
  • 3 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon granulated garlic powder and more before baking
  • 1 cup milk with 2 tablespoons vinegar mixed together
  • 1 tablespoon minced chopped flat-leaf Italian parsley for garnish
  • 1/4 cup white wine or apple juice (use more if they look like they are drying out)
  • extra virgin olive oil for drizzling
  • salt, pepper, or cayenne pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 335 degrees.
  2. Line a 13 x 9 baking pan with parchment paper and spray with cooking oil or brush with olive oil.
  3. In two separate pie plates, add milk and vinegar mixture to the first one with granulated garlic powder.
  4. On the other pie plate add the breadcrumbs, minced garlic, cheese, parsley, salt, and pepper.
  5. Dip the chops into the milk mixture, then into the breadcrumb mixture coating both sides.
  6. Place onto the parchment paper.
  7. Drizzle with oil over each one and sprinkle with a little more granulated garlic powder.
  8. Cover with foil and bake the chops for 10 minutes in the preheated oven.
  9. Pour the wine or apple juice on the bottom of the pan, (not on top of the chops), uncover, and bake for another 15 minutes or until the thickest part reaches 145 degrees using an instant-read thermometer).
  10. For a crispier topping turn up the oven to 400 degrees for 10 minutes.
  11. Garnish with chopped parsley.
