Easy Heart Shaped Foods

Tuesday, January 12, 2021
If you're looking for easy foods in the shape of a heart, I have a few ideas that can be done quickly for Valentine's Day or just that special occasion for someone you love.

I have to think of foods that were solid and easy to cut into shapes, I am sure there are plenty more ideas you will come up with, these are just a few to get started.

Fruits, cheese, meats, and bread are always the easiest and certainly the quickest.

You may have a dinner party, anniversary or it's that holiday that you may like to make special.

From appetizers to entrees and desserts, just scroll through our heart-shaped foods, and enjoy the breakfast lunch, or dinner.

Adapt away and use whatever you like for substitutes whether it's a premade store-bought brand or all homemade recipes, you can choose to cut times.

For those celebrating a holiday, you may want to try my 30 Appetizer and Side Dish Roundup or my Valentine's Day Roundup or recipes also.

Most of the instructions are visual and in the additions section below the hamburgers, meatballs, and pizza dough are all shaped by hand.

I will include all those ideas in my ideas in the recipe card below with links to recipes I used, and tips, just scroll to the bottom of this page.

Fun Foods

I love fun foods, sure you need a few tools but if you're really clever you can cut hearts out of food just with a sharp knife.

I never doubt the creativeness when it comes to food art, I keep mine quite simple and still get lots of compliments, plus there was nothing to it!.

Some of my recipes can be used like Homemade Tomato Sauce for my Meatball Recipe, or you can also use my Homemade Pizza Dough, but shortcuts are fine just buy your favorite premade foods to use.

I have listed many suggestions below to add some yummy ingredients that you may have just a handful of leftover meat or vegetables that can be used in this recipe version.

One-pan casseroles are the best way to use up what's in the refrigerator and repurpose for another great meal.

Don't worry if you don't have a large heart-shaped pan, see my two bowls below to cut into a heart shape easily for cakes.

Here are all the recipe links below with photos and delicious food art I have made over the years for my loved ones.

Strawberries

Strawberries can easily be cut with an appetizer-sized heart cutter, then dipped in white melting chocolate, rolled into colorful sugars to match any Holiday theme.

You can also use small skewers and alternatives with grapes, marshmallows, and heart-shaped strawberries, or any other fruits, watermelon, and cantaloupe that work great for cutting with cookie cutters.

Homemade Pop-Tarts

Easy to make homemade pop-tarts, just use your favorite recipe for Homemade Pie Crust or use refrigerated store-bought dough.

Using a heart cookie cutter, poke the dough with fork tines, add the jam of your choice, fill and bake at 350 degrees until browned.

Cool them completely and frost with Homemade Icing or canned store-bought frosting, add some colorful sprinkles and that's it!

Note:for brown sugar cinnamon pop-tarts filling use 1/2 cup light brown sugar, 2 teaspoons cinnamon, and 1 tablespoon flour, mix together. For chocolate pop tarts, melt 1/2 cup chocolate chips with 2 tablespoons butter, then stir in 3 tablespoons powdered sugar and 1 tablespoon milk.
