Homemade Bow Tie Pasta Recipe

Monday, June 29, 2020
Homemade Bow Tie Pasta also is known as Italian farfalle pasta is as much fun to make as it is to eat!

Farfalle pasta is actually one of the oldest pasta shapes.

It originated during the 16th century in Lombardy and Emilia-Romagna, where it is also known as ‘strichetti’.

I have read that in Emilia-Romagna, strichetti is our modern-day version of farfalle.

Apparently, these were invented by housewives wanting to use up extra pasta dough leftover from making filled cappelletti pasta.

The woman in that region used up the remaining dough by making farfalle, which eventually was such a well-loved pasta dough they did extra on purpose!

Sunday is a traditional day for pasta in an Italian household.

We always make a wonderful homemade Traditional Sunday Sauce with this awesome pasta that is a tradition only during the holiday.

Mom and grandma always reserved homemade pasta during the holiday season.

Most of the time on Christmas Day we had  Mom's Lasagna, and on Easter, it would be bow ties.

Strawberry Shortcake Biscuits

Sunday, June 28, 2020
This is how to make Strawberry Shortcake Biscuits from scratch.

I have three recipes for old-fashioned biscuits, low-carb biscuits, and diabetic biscuits to choose from.

This is one of our favorite desserts in Florida all summer long during strawberries season.

We just love using fresh strawberries for our Strawberry Buttermilk Skillet Cake Strawberry Cream Pie and of course a favorite Strawberry Cheesecake.

Since I am pretty lazy on cutting biscuits and rolling, this is easy, drop them into a muffin or cupcake tin, bake, and hey if you have too much freeze them for another time, at least that's what I do.

You can also drop them on a cookie sheet or even a 9-inch cake pan to make one large one and decorate it for a party theme in colorful fruits.

These basic recipes are all very good you just need to choose the best one for your lifestyle.

Scroll down to the printable recipe card for all 3 fabulous recipes for how to make your favorite Strawberry Shortcake Biscuits!

3 Ingredient Pierogi Dough and Filling Recipes

Saturday, June 20, 2020
Growing up in East Utica New York, our bingo hall use to make this style filled Pierogi with Sauerkraut, Cheese, and Potatoes.

This pierogi style is filled with mashed potato, sauerkraut, and cheddar cheese all in one and I also separated the recipes for each individual for those who aren't fond of all three fillings together.

Most are made of either one or the other, however, these have the filling all in one.

These are the ways I love them, you can separate the filling to do either or if you want to adapt them to the frozen kind in the supermarkets.

Just leave the sauerkraut out and do cheese and mashed potato if you aren't a fan of kraut.

The dough is pillow-soft and delicious, easy to use, and perfectly cooks up with a tender pierogi with this delicious filling.

We love all kinds of homemade dough recipes like Panzerotti which is an Italian deep-fried pizza, Chinese Egg Rolls from scratch, and homemade Runza a dough stuffed with meat and popular in Nebraska.

Burger King Copycat Whaler with Homemade Tartar Sauce

Thursday, June 4, 2020
This copycat Burger King Whaler is pretty much a dead ringer in flavors!

The secret is in the tartar sauce, and seriously, makes the sandwich fabulous!

The BK food chain has a light and flaky 100% Alaskan Pollock fillet topped with a delicious creamy tartar sauce and shredded lettuce on the potato bun.

I used everything except for the same kind of fish.

Years ago when it's debut in 1975 the Big Fish sandwich has changed and evolved using different fish, buns however that delicious tartar sauce stayed the same taste.

I made my sandwich with fried haddock, also a delicious white flaky fish, using my fish fry recipe.

If you love the Whaler you're in for a homemade treat in less than 25 minutes!

I love copycat recipes like my Arby's Beef and Cheddar and I also have a roundup of Copycat Recipes to try!

I always order mine with a slice of cheese which is extra, but I really like the fish better with cheese, you can omit that part if you're not big on that.

So my copycat version is really one that I love to make and the tartar sauce if fantastic it totally compliments this sandwich.

You can use any frozen premade brand fish in the supermarket or make your own.

Don't forget to pick up some shoestrings french fries or make a seasoned style like my Italian fries to go with this delicious fish sandwich.

It's really super simple and quick if you're using all store-bought brands and not all homemade like I did.
