No Bake Sweetened Condensed Milk Cheesecake Pie

Monday, December 29, 2014
This is a 1970s style no-bake cheesecake made with sweetened condensed milk, at least that's when I was introduced to this delicious creamy pie.

Apparently sweetened condensed milk was invented in the early 1800s according to many historian sites.

The cream cheese together with the milk is a match made in creamy heaven, and super simple to make this.

The pie won't set right until it's completely chilled so don't get impatient!

Check out this vintage easy recipe not only simple to make but it's a no-bake delicious cheese pie!

Cupcake Quiche Recipe

Saturday, December 27, 2014

My husband's favorite breakfast is chicken fried chicken in a skillet style breakfast that includes eggs, bacon, sausage then covered with white sausage gravy over the top of biscuits. This gives him just about everything he needs except I didn't add the cubed fried potatoes inside. Just add them as a side dish using either hash browns, cottage fried potatoes or home fries you'll end up with a banquet for breakfast!

For special occasions or when company comes I love to make these little individual quiches to everyone liking. I personalize them. I get all the ingredients and add whatever my family or guests likes and these are sure to please everyone. Whether they're vegetarian, meat lovers or just plain cheese you got it made making these little quiches.

London Broil and Meatball Barley Soup Recipe

Saturday, November 8, 2014
One of my favorite soups has always been beef barley.

I don't make it often enough.

This week I had such a craving for beef soup instead of the traditional chicken soup so I went out and got lucky enough to find this London broil on sale and was perfect for my soup.

Not greasy like some of the lower cuts of meat, full of flavor and perfectly tender beef in my soup after simmering.

I grew up using beef soup bones, using beef ribs or shanks most of the time leftover from whatever was in Sunday's sauce that was simmered for macaroni. We would use the bone in the saucepot to make a beef soup.

Sometimes that bone would be used more than once.

Those were the depression days when grandma and mom knew how to stretch a meal.

The beef bone sure would make a rich tasty soup but not much meat in it. This soup is packed with tender London broil a rich broth and tiny meatballs.

1 teaspoon garlic granulated and 1 teaspoon dried parsley flakes
salt, pepper to taste

Sausage Pepperoni Peppers Mushroom Calzone Recipe

Monday, September 29, 2014

These are our most favorite game day foods or for all and any occassions. Perfect stuffed breads for all your family and party needs. These stuffed breads are filled with our favorites, sauteed sausage, peppers, mushrooms and pepperoni. You can tailor these to your family favorite pizza toppings and use what you like to fill these with. I will give you a list of suggestions below.

The cheese oozing out of these is the best part
for me, the more cheese the happier I am! The meat enhances the flavors from the oils it secretes.

Sausage Pepperoni Peppers Mushroom Calzones

Make your own dough or use store bought click here for my recipe
I used 1 pound for each calzone.

Filling (Double for two calzones):
1 pepper sliced into thin strips
1 8oz package mushrooms
1 pound sausage loose cooked
8 slices of pepperoni
1 clove minced garlic
8 slices mozzarella cheese
4 slices provolone cheese
olive oil
grating cheese
black pepper

Saute the sausage in 2 tablespoons olive oil until the pink is gone. Add the peppers and garlic cook 1 more minute. Drain oil.

Roll out the first dough to 1/4 inch thick but not too thin so your filling doesn't seep through.
Add half the cheese on the bottom, sausage filling and then pepperoni and more cheese on top. Drizzle the dough with olive oil. Sprinkle  tops of dough with grating cheese, garlic minced and freshly ground pepper. Bake in a hot oven of 400 degree until browned on top.

Optional filling ingredients: chopped onions, chopped olives, hot peppers, crushed meatballs, ham and pineapple, shrimp, thinly shaved eggplant, fresh spinach, tuna, chopped tomatoes, sliced zucchini, chopped broccoli, shredded cheddar.

Use the combinations of vegetables and meat you like together for the filling. Basically meats, vegetables and cheeses holds it together.
